Australian Gambling Executives

Profiles of Australian gambling executives running the country's licensed casino, wagering and lottery operators, with verified sourcing.

Editorial Statement: We independently review and select all operators. While we may earn commissions from affiliate links or paid placements, these never influence our editors' opinions or evaluations. Every platform is assessed against our own standards, and we highlight both strengths and shortcomings, regardless of any commercial relationship.

Australian gambling executives run some of the country’s biggest companies, from casino floors to lottery jackpots. These profiles cover the people holding the top jobs right now.

Leadership here doesn’t sit still. Several of these companies have swapped CEOs more than once since 2024. So every profile carries a date and a source, not just a name.

Check the “last verified” line before relying on a title.

Australian Gambling Industry at a Glance

Australia punches above its weight here. Australians lose around A$32 billion a year across casinos, wagering, lotteries and pokies, according to Alliance for Gambling Reform data. That’s one of the highest per-person gambling spends anywhere in the world.

Pokies alone chew through close to A$17 billion of that total.

There’s no single regulator running the show. Casino licences come from the states. Wagering and lottery products answer to their own state-based rules too.

Online gambling falls under the federal Interactive Gambling Act 2001 instead. That’s why one company can answer to several regulators at once. It’s also why Australian gambling executives often report to more than one licensing authority.

ASX-listed companies dominate the sector. The Star Entertainment Group, Tabcorp and The Lottery Corporation between them cover casinos, wagering and lotteries. All three have changed CEOs at least once since 2024.

A handful of other major operators round out the market we’re tracking here, listed in the tables below.

Why We Cover This

Typically, Crazy Vegas mostly reviews games, bonuses and casino sites. This directory is different. It’s background on the people running the companies behind those brands, not a betting tip.

Oh, and none of these profiles pushes a signup or a bonus code either. They exist so a journalist, a player, or anyone else researching the industry can look up a name. What they get back is a straight, sourced answer instead of a guess.

How These Profiles Are Built

Every profile on this page comes from public sources. That means company announcements, ASX filings, and reporting from outlets like Reuters, Gaming Intelligence and iGaming Business.

We don’t speculate about titles or dates. We won’t run a profile without a named source for the current role. We’re not always first to catch a change, either.

Titles in this industry move fast. Star Entertainment alone cycled through three chief executives between 2021 and 2025. We’ve already had to update names mid-project more than once.

So every profile carries a “last verified” date. That way you know exactly how current the information is, instead of assuming it holds forever.
